Start off your visit on the 30th (Fri): steep yourself in history at Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine and then get in on the family fun at Universal Studios Japan. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: explore the historical opulence of Osaka Castle, then let your taste buds guide you at a local gastronomic tour, and then get to know the fascinating history of Hozenji Yokocho.

Hong Kong, China to Osaka is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of train and ferry. The time zone changes from Hong Kong Time (HKT) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. August in Osaka sees daily highs of 39°C and lows of 29°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Sat) so you can take a train to Kyoto.
