With a nickname like the "Pearl of the Orient," it's not surprising Shanghai offers some of the most rewarding attractions and activities in the Far East.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre and Shanghai Museum (Shanghai Bowuguan). Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Former French Concession and Tian Zi Fang. And it doesn't end there: go for a walk through The Bund (Wai Tan), don't miss a visit to Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road), take in panoramic vistas at Oriental Pearl Tower (Dongfang Mingzhu), and browse the different shops at Three on the Bund.

Brisbane, Australia to Shanghai is an approximately 14- hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of flight and taxi. Start off your visit on the 21st (Fri): stop by PAPP'S TEA and then see Mutianyu Great Wall. Here are some ideas for day two: take an in-depth tour of Lama Temple (Yonghegong), walk around Jingshan Park (Jingshan Gongyuan), then see the interesting displays at The Palace Museum, and finally take some stellar pictures from Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang).

You can fly from Suzhou to Beijing in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. When traveling from Suzhou in February, plan for somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Beijing: temperatures range from 6°C by day to -7°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat) early enough to travel to Xi'an.
