A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.
Your list of things to see and do now includes Asahiyama Zoo, Odori Park, Sapporo Beer Museum, and other attractions. On the 23rd (Wed), get to know the resident critters at Asahiyama Zoo, then examine the collection at Sapporo Beer Museum, and then walk around Odori Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: indulge your thirst for a good beer at Asahi Breweries Hokkaido Brewery, steep yourself in history at Hokkaido Jingu, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Fushimi Inari Shrine, get a taste of the local shopping with Tanukikoji Shopping Street, then take a stroll around Sapporo Underground Shopping Centre Aurora Town, and finally browse the different shops at Sapporo Factory.

Singapore, Singapore to Sapporo is an approximately 11-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Singapore Time (SGT) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Prepare for colder weather when traveling from Singapore in December: high temperatures in Sapporo hover around 0°C and lows are around -2°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Fri) to allow time to take a train to Noboribetsu.

Perhaps the island's best-known hot spring resort, Noboribetsu has a long history of tourism.
Step out of the city life by going to Jigokudani and Showashinzan. When in Noboribetsu, make a side trip to see Shiraoi Ainu Musuem and Village in Shiraoi-cho, approximately Shiraoi-cho away. Next up on the itinerary: observe the fascinating underwater world at Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, witness a stunning natural landmark at Oyunuma, and explore the activities along Lake Toya.

Traveling by train from Sapporo to Noboribetsu takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In December, daytime highs in Noboribetsu are 3°C, while nighttime lows are -1°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Niseko-cho.

Take a break from the city and head to Kagaminuma and Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Shu Ogawara Museum of Art and Soga Hokuei Stone Circle. Change things up with these side-trips from Niseko-cho: Shinsennuma (in Kyowa-cho), Niseko Hanazono Resort (in Kutchan-cho) and Rusutsu Resort (in Rusutsu-mura). The port city of Otaru has long attracted domestic visitors, drawn in by the city's many historic buildings, and has started to garner international attention, too.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Wed): find something for the whole family at Otaru Denuki Koji. On the 31st (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at Otaru Museum, Bank of Japan, then contemplate the long history of The Site of Temiya Line, then contemplate the waterfront views at Otaru Canal, and finally stop by Otaru Music Box Museum Main Building.
