Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Visit Hozomon and Nipponmaru Memorial Park for their historical value. Head to TOKYO Samurai Kembu and Gallery Marusanfor plenty of shopping. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Tokyo: Yokohama (Japan Coast Guard Museum Yokohama, Kishamichi Promenade, &more) and Kirin Beer Yokohama Factory (in Tsurumi). Onna-son

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Escape the urban bustle at Toyosaki Kaihin Koen and Busena Beach. Get some cultural insight at Kemmin no Mori Forest Science Museum and Minatogawa Stateside Town. Get out of town with these interesting Onna-son side-trips: Nago (Scuba & Snorkeling & Nago citizen Beach), Urasoe Castle Ruins (in Urasoe) and Naha (Aeon Naha Shopping Center & Umichurara). You can do a combination of flight and bus from Tokyo to Onna-son in 7 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, taxi, flight, and bus; or do a combination of flight, ferry, and bus. Traveling from Tokyo in May, Onna-son is a bit warmer at night with lows of 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Miyakojima.

Miyakojima

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
On the 27th (Wed), take in the spiritual surroundings of Harimizu Utaki, stroll the grounds of Nakasone Toyumya Tomb, take in the spiritual surroundings of Miyako Shrine, then delve into the distant past at Ninto zeiseki, then paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, and finally browse the eclectic array of goods at Atarasu Ichiba. Getting from Onna-son to Miyakojima by combination of bus and flight takes about 3.5 hours. In May, daytime highs in Miyakojima are 32°C, while nighttime lows are 27°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Fri) so you can ride a ferry to Iriomote-jima.

Take a break from the city and head to Hairumubushi Beach and Kubazaki Beach. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Island Countryside Settlement and Torinji Temple. Step out of Ishigaki with an excursion to Nawa Insect Museum Haimurubushi in Kohama-jima--about 1 hour away. Traveling by ferry from Iriomote-jima to Ishigaki takes an hour. May in Ishigaki sees daily highs of 34°C and lows of 28°C at night. On the 2nd (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
