Often referred to as "The Paris of the North," Riga offers thriving nightlife and some of the best collections of Art Nouveau architecture in Europe.
Step out of Riga to go to Salaspils and see Salaspils Memorial Ensemble, which is approximately 30 minutes away. There's much more to do: wander the streets of Old City Riga (Vecriga), contemplate the long history of Latvian Ethnographic Open Air Museum, get engrossed in the history at Latvijas Okupācijas muzejs, and admire the striking features of Alberta Iela.
