The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Nijo Castle. Popular historic sites such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Sanjusangendo Temple are in your itinerary. Venture out of the city with trips to Nara (Todai-ji Temple, Todaiji Temple Cultural Center, &more) and Dotombori District (in Dotombori). And it doesn't end there: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kinkaku-ji, explore the historical opulence of Osaka Castle, don't miss a visit to Heian Shrine, and wander the streets of Gion.
