Start off your visit on the 18th (Wed): step into the grandiose world of Kumamoto Castle, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kato Shrine, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kumamotojoinari Shrine, then walk around Suizenji Jojuen Garden, then get a taste of the local shopping with Shimotori Shotengai, and finally explore the world behind art at Contemporary Art Museum, Kumamoto.

Singapore, Singapore to Kumamoto is an approximately 10-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference moving from Singapore Time to Japan Standard Time is 1 hour. Traveling from Singapore in March, expect Kumamoto to be much colder, temps between 17°C and 6°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 18th (Wed) early enough to travel to Nichinan.

Tourism in Nichinan, a town on Japan's southernmost island of Kyushu, flourishes thanks to the scenic Nichinan-Kaigan coastline, a stretch of secluded coves, islands, and tranquil beaches.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Thu): wander the streets of Obi, get to know the fascinating history of Obijyo Castle Ruins, get engrossed in the history at Obi Castle History Museum, then contemplate the long history of Yoshokan, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Udo Shrine, and finally head outdoors with Nichinan Coast.

Drive from Kumamoto to Nichinan in 3.5 hours. In March in Nichinan, expect temperatures between 19°C during the day and 9°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Thu) early enough to drive to Ibusuki.

Ibusuki

A coastal place of relaxation, Ibusuki stands as a hot spring resort on the southern tip of the peninsula.
Start off your visit on the 20th (Fri): soak in some Japanese tradition at some of the top local onsens, cruise along JR Southernmost Nishioyama Station, kick back and relax at Fushime Coast, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Kaimondake, then make a trip to Cape Nagasakibana, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Ryugu Shrine.

Traveling by car from Nichinan to Ibusuki takes 3 hours. Traveling from Nichinan in March, you will find days in Ibusuki are a bit cooler (16°C), and nights are about the same (11°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Fri) to allow enough time to take a train to Nagasaki.

The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II.
Visit Glover Garden and Nagasaki Peace Park for their historical value. Go for a jaunt from Nagasaki to Arita-cho to see Arita Townscape about 1h 25 min away. There's much more to do: take an in-depth tour of Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, see the interesting displays at Dejima, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ōura Church, and take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Inasa.

You can take a train from Ibusuki to Nagasaki in 5.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of car and ferry; or take a bus. Traveling from Ibusuki in March, plan for slightly colder nights in Nagasaki, with lows around 8°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Mon) to allow time to drive to Sasebo.

The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Dazaifu Tenman-gu and Kushida Shrine. Get out of town with these interesting Fukuoka side-trips: Kitakyushu (Kokura Castle & Mojiko Retro), Karatsu (Karatsu Castle, Nijino Matsubara, &more) and Komyozen-ji Temple (in Dazaifu).
