On the 18th (Fri), get a sense of history and politics at Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings, wander the streets of Harajuku Takeshita-dori, then get engrossed in the history at Tokyo National Museum, and finally shop like a local with Ginza. Keep things going the next day: take in nature's colorful creations at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, then shop like a local with Asakusa, and then examine the collection at Edo-Tokyo Museum.
