The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Visit Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Kinkaku-ji for their historical value. Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Dotombori District are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Next up on the itinerary: explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle, contemplate the long history of Sanjusangendo Temple, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tofuku-ji Temple, and wander the streets of Gion.

With a long Pacific coastline, Nanjo offers fantastic views of the ocean from high cliffs covered with lush greenery, as well as from its long sandy beaches.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Sun): identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas and then look for gifts at Onna Station Nakayukui Market. On the next day, contemplate the long history of Okinawa Peace Memorial Park, thencontemplate the long history of The Tower of Himeyuri, thenbrowse the different shops at Ashibina Outlet Mall, and finally steep yourself in history at Sefa-Utaki.

Traveling by flight from Kyoto to Nanjo takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, ferry, and car. Traveling from Kyoto in November, expect nights in Nanjo to be much warmer, around 24°C, while days are somewhat warmer, around 29°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Tue) so you can travel to Iriomote-jima.

Taketomicho Iriomote-Jima stands as the second largest island in Okinawa.
