Get out of town with these interesting Carcassonne side-trips: Rennes-le-Chateau (Tour Magdala, Eglise Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, &more), Narbonne (Musee Archeologique, Via Domitia of Narbonne, &more) and Eglise Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption (in Gruissan). There's still lots to do: take in the views from Le Pont Vieux (The Old Bridge), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Eglise St. Vincent, and contemplate the long history of Abbey of Saint-Hilaire.
