Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Nakijin Castle Ruins and Okinawa Prefectural Museum and Art Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Onna Station Nakayukui Market and Katsuren Castle Ruins. A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Aragusuku Beach and East Henna Cape. We've included these beaches for you: Toguchi no Hama and Sunayama Beach. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sea views from Higashi Hennazaki Lighthouse, head off the coast to Ikema-jima Island, snap pictures at Ikema Ohashi Bridge, and look for gifts at Furusato.

You can do a combination of bus and flight from Onna-son to Miyakojima in 3.5 hours. In September, daytime highs in Miyakojima are 36°C, while nighttime lows are 30°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Sat) to allow time to travel to Ishigaki.

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Step off the beaten path and head to Kondoi Beach and Yurateiku Market. Get some cultural insight at Island Countryside Settlement and Cape Hirakubozaki. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Yonehara Beach, enjoy breathtaking views from Tamatorizaki Observatory, Head underground at Ishigaki Island Limestone Cave, and take a leisurely stroll along Nishi Pier.

You can fly from Miyakojima to Ishigaki in 2 hours. In September in Ishigaki, expect temperatures between 37°C during the day and 30°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Tue) so you can travel to Kochi.

The port city of Kochi has a rich and varied history that has left its mark on the look and feel of the urban area.
On the 16th (Wed), take in nature's colorful creations at The Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chikurinji Temple, then browse the eclectic array of goods at Hirome Ichiba, and finally step into the grandiose world of Kochi Castle. Here are some ideas for day two: kick back and relax at Katsura Hama and then have fun and explore at Kami City Takashi Yanase Memorial Museum Anpanman Museum.

Traveling by flight from Ishigaki to Kochi takes 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight, bus, and train; or do a combination of flight and train. Plan for slightly colder temperatures traveling from Ishigaki in September, with highs in Kochi at 32°C and lows at 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Thu) early enough to travel to Ise.

Start off your visit on the 18th (Fri): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sarutahiko Shrine, contemplate the long history of Oharai-machi, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tsukiyominomiya, and finally appreciate the extensive heritage of Ise Shrine Geku.
