Step off the beaten path and head to Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings and Edo-Tokyo Museum. Kids will enjoy Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and Tokyo DisneySea. Have a day of magic on the 13th (Mon) at Tokyo Disneyland. Next up on the itinerary: admire the striking features of Tokyo Tower, take in the spiritual surroundings of Senso-ji Temple, and make a trip to Meiji Jingu Shrine.

Sydney, Australia to Tokyo is an approximately 13.5- hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of train, bus, and flight. Traveling from Sydney to Tokyo, you'll gain 1 hour due to the time zone difference. The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Wed): take in the spiritual surroundings of Kennin-ji Temple, then steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, and then steep yourself in history at Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Here are some ideas for day two: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji, step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle, then steep yourself in history at Heian Shrine, and finally make a trip to Gion.

Traveling by train from Tokyo to Kyoto takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. In April, plan for daily highs up to 22°C, and evening lows to 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) early enough to take a train to Hiroshima.

Formed by the gradual merging of several old fishing villages, today the island town of Motobu-cho boasts paradisal beaches of white sand, clear waters, and a rich array of wildlife.
On the 19th (Sun), go for a walk through Bise no Fukugi Tree Road, then meet the residents at Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, and then observe the fascinating underwater world at Okichan Theater.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Hiroshima to Motobu-cho in 7 hours. Other options are to do a combination of train, flight, and bus; or do a combination of train, bus, and flight. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from Hiroshima in April, with highs in Motobu-cho at 28°C and lows at 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Ishigaki.
