On the 14th (Thu), see the interesting displays at Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, steep yourself in history at Nagoya Castle, then examine the collection at SCMAGLEV and Railway Park, and finally observe the fascinating underwater world at Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 15th (Fri): enjoy breathtaking views from Nagoya TV Tower, get curious at Nagoya City Science Museum, don't miss a visit to Osu Shopping Street, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Atsuta Jingu Shrine, and finally get to know the resident critters at Higashiyama Zoo & Botanical Garden.

Proud of their hometown's distinct culture and dialect, many natives of Osaka describe their city as "Japan's anti-capital." An antidote to Tokyo's hectic energy, Osaka marches to the beat of its own drum, serving as the country's longtime commercial and industrial hub.
Kids will enjoy Universal Studios Japan and Osaka Shiritsu Toyo Toji Museum. Change things up with these side-trips from Osaka: Nara Park (in Nara), Himeji Castle (in Himeji) and Mt. Koya (in Koya-cho). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Osaka Castle, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Senko-ji Temple, have some family-friendly fun at Sunset Owl Cafe, and visit Dotombori District.

You can take a train from Nagoya to Osaka in 1.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Nagoya in November, plan for somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Osaka: temperatures range from 20°C by day to 10°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Tue) to allow enough time to take a train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Arashiyama. Take a break from Kyoto with a short trip to Todai-ji Temple in Nara, about 1 hour away. There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, take in the spiritual surroundings of Sanjusangendo Temple, step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle, and learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Monkey Park Iwatayama.
