Head to Dotombori and Midosuji Streetfor plenty of shopping. Discover out-of-the-way places like Hankyu Umeda Honten and Tower Knives Osaka. Get out of town with these interesting Osaka side-trips: Mt. Kongo (in Chihayaakasaka-mura), Koya-cho (Koyasan Danjo Garan & Torodo Temple) and Mt. Yoshino (in Yoshino-cho). Singapore, Singapore to Osaka is an approximately 10- hour combination of flight and train. You can also do a combination of flight and bus; or do a combination of flight, bus, and train. The time zone changes from Singapore Standard Time (SGT) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Explore hidden gems such as Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Mt. Kurama. Popular historic sites such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Kennin-ji Temple are in your itinerary. When in Kyoto, make a side trip to see Amanohashidate in Miyazu, approximately Miyazu away. The adventure continues: make a trip to Gion, steep yourself in history at Genkoan, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chion-in Temple, and browse the eclectic array of goods at Nishiki Market Shopping District.

You can take a train from Nara to Kyoto in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and subway. Expect little chillier evenings in Kyoto when traveling from Nara in March, with lows around 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Sun) so you can take a train to Kobe.

The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Koko-en and Iida Ebisu Shrine. Head to Yamasa Kamaboko Yumesenkan and Piole Himejifor some retail therapy. Venture out of the city with trips to Ritsuun Gorge (in Asago) and Old Shizutani School (in Bizen). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Himeji Castle, take in the spiritual surroundings of Hiromine Shrine, and get outside with Mt Shosha hiking.
