You can fly from Hiroshima to Yamagata in 6 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Traveling from Hiroshima in December, things will get little chillier in Yamagata: highs are around 4°C and lows about 0°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Mon) so you can drive to Sendai.
