Explore Kyoto's surroundings by going to Todaiji Temple Cultural Center (in Nara) and Osaka (Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan & Osaka Castle). Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, get engrossed in the history at Kyoto Museum of Crafts and Design, make a trip to Nijo Castle, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sanjusangendo Temple.

Get out of town with these interesting Himeji side-trips: Asago (Takeda Teramachi Street & Mikobata Senkojo Mine), Kunimi no Mori Park (in Shiso) and Bizen (Hattoji Furusatomura & Irigyogyo Kyodo Kumiai Manaichi).
