The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
You've now added Osaka Castle to your itinerary. Popular historic sites such as Eikando Zenrinji Temple and Horyu-ji Temple are in your itinerary. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kodai-ji Temple and Jojakkoji Temple. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Kyoto: Kayabuki-no-sato Kitamura (in Nantan), Sakurai (Tanzan Shrine, Hase-dera Temple, & more) and Kobe Municipal Arboretum (in Kita). There's lots more to do: get a taste of the local shopping with Hankyu Umeda Honten, look for all kinds of wild species at Yase Momiji no Komichi, take in the spiritual surroundings of Chion-in Temple, and don't miss a visit to Yasakanoto.

Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
You've now added TOKYO ONE PIECE TOWER to your itinerary. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Nature & Wildlife Tours and Kirin Beer Yokohama Factory. Visiting Kamakura Hiking Trails and Ubara Risokyo will get you outdoors. Change things up with these side-trips from Tokyo: Oyama Afuri Shrine (in Isehara), Kodokan Park (in Mito) and Samukawa Shrine (in Samukawa-machi). And it doesn't end there: stop by Ginza Itoya Hontren, view the masterpieces at TOKYO Samurai Kembu, take in the spiritual surroundings of Karasumori Shrine, and wander the streets of Omiya Bonsai Village.
