Onna-son

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Start off your visit on the 25th (Tue): glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 26th (Wed): get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and then kick back and relax at Akabaka Beach.

Ishigaki

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Bring the kids along to Scuba & Snorkeling and Yonehara Beach. Do some cultural sightseeing at Cape Hirakubozaki and Ishigaki Yaima Village. The adventure continues: contemplate the waterfront views at Kabira Bay, Head underground at Ishigaki Island Limestone Cave, glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, and look for gifts at Yurateiku Market.

Getting from Ishigaki to Hiroshima by combination of flight and train takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: fly. Expect a bit cooler evenings in Hiroshima when traveling from Ishigaki in July, with lows around 76°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Tue) early enough to catch the train to Kyoto.
