Proud of their hometown's distinct culture and dialect, many natives of Osaka describe their city as "Japan's anti-capital." An antidote to Tokyo's hectic energy, Osaka marches to the beat of its own drum, serving as the country's longtime commercial and industrial hub.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Universal City Walk Osaka as well as Osaka Takoyaki Museum. Do some cultural sightseeing at Dotombori District and Minami (Namba). Your inner history buff will appreciate Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine and Osaka City Central Hall. Step out of Osaka with an excursion to Cup Noodle Museum Osaka Ikeda in Ikeda--about 32 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: get in on the family fun at Universal Studios Japan, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Senko-ji Temple, take a stroll around Daimaru Museum Umeda, and examine the collection at Glico Museum.
