Cassis is a commune situated east of Marseille in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southern France.It is a popular tourist destination, famous for its cliffs (falaises) and the sheltered inlets called calanques. Visit Grande Plage du Lavandou and Plage de la Grande Mer for some beach relaxation. Get in touch with nature at Sentier du littoral - Le Lavandou - Plage de la Fossette and Plage de Saint-Clair. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cassis: Les Grottes de Villecroze (in Villecroze), Les Cascades de Sillans (in Sillans-la-Cascade) and Vallon des Carmes (in Barjols). There's lots more to do: take a leisurely stroll along Port de Cassis, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saint Michel Church, indulge your taste buds at Cassis Market, and get interesting insight from Tours.
