Go for a jaunt from Venice to Padua to see Scrovegni Chapel about 54 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the waterfront views at Canal Grande, admire the landmark architecture of Basilica di San Marco, take in panoramic vistas at St Mark's Campanile, and admire the masterpieces at Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

Porto Alegre, Brazil to Venice is an approximately 19.5-hour combination of flight and train. You can also fly; or do a combination of flight and shuttle. The time zone changes from Brasilia Time to Central European Time, which is usually a 4 hour difference. Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Porto Alegre in August, with highs in Venice at 34°C and lows at 22°C. Take a train from Venice to Milan in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and flight. In August, daily temperatures in Milan can reach 34°C, while at night they dip to 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Sat) early enough to catch the train to Florence.
