Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
When in Venice, make a side trip to see Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, approximately Padua away. There's still lots to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Canal Grande, enjoy breathtaking views from St Mark's Campanile, don't miss a visit to Basilica di San Marco, and hit the best photo ops around with an inspiring photography tour.
