Visit Kinkaku-ji and Toji for their historical value. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Nijo Castle and Tofuku-ji Temple. Go for a jaunt from Kyoto to Uji to see Mimurotoji Temple about 32 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Eikando Zenrinji Temple, wander the streets of Gion, contemplate the long history of Kifune Shrine, and stop by Pontocho.
