Isabela is a municipality of Puerto Rico (U.S.) located in the north-western region of the island, north of San Sebastián; west of Quebradillas; and east of Aguadilla and Moca. On the 11th (Thu), kick back and relax at Crashboat Beach, then enjoy the sand and surf at Jobos Beach, and then stroll through Montones Beach.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
We've included these beaches for you: Sun Bay Beach and Caracas Beach. There's much more to do: kick back and relax at La Chiva, stroll through Vieques National Wildlife Refuge, indulge in some personalized pampering at Beatriz Beauty Boutique, and glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area.

You can do a combination of car and ferry from Isabela to Isla de Vieques in 4.5 hours. Other options are to fly; or do a combination of car, taxi, and ferry. With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
