Mukō is a city in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, which served as the capital city of Japan (Nagaoka-kyō) for a decade from 784 to 794. On the 2nd (Tue), stroll around Yodo River Park Sewaritei District, admire the masterpieces at Asahi Beer Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art, then brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Suntory Yamazaki Distillery, and finally get engrossed in the history at Muko City Cultural Museum. Here are some ideas for day two: indulge your thirst for a good beer at Suntory Kyoto Brewery, contemplate the long history of Oyamazaki Sanso Seikaro, then don't miss a visit to Chochikukyo, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Iwashimizu Hachimangu, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Nagaoka Tenmangu.
