Start off your visit on the 8th (Mon): contemplate the long history of Colosseum, appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza Navona, then steep yourself in history at St. Peter's Basilica, then admire the landmark architecture of Pantheon, and finally admire the local landmark of Trevi Fountain. On the 9th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: delve into the distant past at Palatine Hill, admire the masterpieces at Vatican Museums, and then don't miss a visit to Spanish Steps.

Johannesburg, South Africa to Rome is an approximately 14-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. You'll gain 1 hour traveling from Johannesburg to Rome due to the time zone difference.
