Onna-son

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Zakimi Castle Ruins and Nakijin Castle Ruins will appeal to history buffs. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Scuba & Snorkeling and Okichan Theater. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Onna-son: Motobu-cho (Minna Beach, Minnajima Island, &more). There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Manza Beach, Head underground at Blue Cave, stop by Onna Station Nakayukui Market, and make a trip to Cape Maeda.

Taketomicho Iriomote-Jima stands as the second largest island in Okinawa.
On the 10th (Sun), find your balance on the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area and then scramble along the landscape with a canyoning and rapelling tour. On your second day here, take in the dramatic scenery at Pinaisara Falls, step off the mainland to explore Iriomote Island, thenenjoy the sand and surf at Hoshisuna Beach, and finally head off the coast to Barasu Island.

Getting from Onna-son to Iriomote-jima by flight takes about 6 hours. In July in Iriomote-jima, expect temperatures between °C during the day and °C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Mon) early enough to catch the ferry to Ishigaki.

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Tue): contemplate the waterfront views at Kabira Bay, head outdoors with Yonehara Beach, enjoy breathtaking views from Tamatorizaki Observatory, thenenjoy the sea views from Cape Hirakubozaki, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Sunset Beach. Miyakojima

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Aragusuku Beach and Sunayama Beach. There's still lots to do: paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, identify plant and animal life at Yabiji, take in the views from Irabu Ohashi, and kick back and relax at Toguchi no Hama.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Kinkaku-ji will appeal to history buffs. For shopping fun, head to Dotombori District or Nishiki Market Shopping District. Take a break from Kyoto with a short trip to Naniwa Meibutsu Ichibirian Dotombori in Dotombori, about 1h 5 min away. There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, steep yourself in history at Tofuku-ji Temple, and step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle.
