The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Visiting Nijino Matsubara and Anego no Hama will get you outdoors. We've included these beaches for you: Miyajihama Beach and Kafuri Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Fukuoka side-trips: Mojiko Retro (in Kitakyushu), Fukae Beach (in Itoshima) and Dazaifu Tenman-gu (in Dazaifu). There's lots more to do: take in the pleasant sights at Ohori Park, buy something for everyone on your list at Tenjin Underground Shopping Center, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kushida Shrine, and get outside with Fukuma Beach.

Singapore, Singapore to Fukuoka is an approximately 9-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Singapore to Fukuoka. Traveling from Singapore in October, expect Fukuoka to be little chillier, temps between 27°C and 19°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) so you can take a train to Saga.
