Start off your visit on the 20th (Fri): get curious at Cite de l'espace, catch a live performance at Theatre du Capitole, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilique Saint-Sernin. On the next day, admire the masterpieces at Musee des Augustins, take in the spiritual surroundings of Church of Les Jacobins, go for a walk through Le Quartier Du Castelviel, then learn about winemaking at Cave de Labastide, and finally admire the striking features of Cathedrale Sainte-Cecile.

Best known as a fortified town, Carcassonne is a walled city that provided the inspiration for the castle in Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" and the location for many scenes in Kevin Costner's movie "Robin Hood." For a daily dose of excitement, medieval jousting tournaments are held twice per day between the two walls--while this may sound like a typical touristy show, it's actually an entertaining display of combative competition and horsemanship.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Cité de Carcassonne and Cathar Castles. Let the collections at Musee De L'ecole and Musee de L'Inquisition capture your imagination. Venture out of the city with trips to Orgues d'Ille Sur Tet (in Ille-sur-Tet) and Reserve Africaine de Sigean (in Sigean). There's still lots to do: explore the historical opulence of Chateau Comtal, pause for some serene contemplation at Eglise Saint-Nazaire, and stroll through Canal du Midi.
