Iriomote-jima

Taketomicho Iriomote-Jima stands as the second largest island in Okinawa.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Canyoning & Rappelling Tours and Ida no Hama Beach. Tel Aviv, Israel to Iriomote-jima is an approximately 20-hour flight. Traveling from Tel Aviv to Iriomote-jima, you'll lose 7 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Tel Aviv in March, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 21°C in Iriomote-jima. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sun) to allow enough time to ride a ferry to Ishigaki.

You can ride a ferry from Iriomote-jima to Ishigaki in 1.5 hours. March in Ishigaki sees daily highs of 26°C and lows of 21°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Wed) early enough to catch the flight to Miyakojima.

Miyakojima

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Scuba & Snorkeling and Kouri Island. Next up on the itinerary: kick back and relax at Toguchi no Hama, make a trip to East Henna Cape, snap pictures at Kurima Bridge, and take in panoramic vistas at Makiyama Observatory.

Traveling by flight from Ishigaki to Miyakojima takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly. In March in Miyakojima, expect temperatures between 26°C during the day and 20°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sat) so you can fly to Onna-son.

Onna-son

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Shop till you drop at AEONMALL OKINAWA RYCOM and Onna Station Nakayukui Market. Step off the beaten path and head to Bise no Fukugi Tree Road and Blue Cave. Explore Onna-son's surroundings by going to Motobu-cho (Okichan Theater & Okinawa Memorial Park Ocean Expo Park) and Uruma (Kafu Banta & Katsuren Castle Ruins). There's still lots to do: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, stroll through Sun Marina Beach, and make a trip to Cape Maeda.

You can fly from Miyakojima to Onna-son in 2.5 hours. Plan for a bit cooler nights when traveling from Miyakojima in March since evenings lows in Onna-son dip to 16°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 29th (Tue) early enough to catch the flight to Yakushima-cho.

Yakushima-cho

A popular destination for Japanese tourists, Kumage-gun Yakushima-cho is a true paradise for nature lovers, with over 1,900 species and subspecies of plants.
Explore hidden gems such as Shiratani Unsuikyo Valley and Taikoiwa. There's much more to do: trek along Yakusugi Land, take a peaceful walk through Shakunagenomori Park, tour the pleasant surroundings at Seibu Trail, and soak in some Japanese tradition at some of the top local onsens.

Traveling from Onna-son in March, expect Yakushima-cho to be slightly colder, temps between 20°C and 13°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Fri) so you can travel to Takachiho-cho.

Takachiho-cho

The mountain town of Takachiho-cho remains a place of great importance to Japan's spiritual and natural heritage, and the point where these two things intersect.
On the 2nd (Sat), admire the sheer force of Manai Falls, take in breathtaking views at Takachiho Gorge, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Takachiho Shrine.

Getting from Yakushima-cho to Takachiho-cho by combination of ferry, train, and car takes about 6.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of flight and bus. Plan for slightly colder nights when traveling from Yakushima-cho in April since evenings lows in Takachiho-cho dip to 12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sat) to allow time to travel to Ito.

Not too far from the capital, Ito has developed a reputation as a resort town, with a fair portion of its area lying within a national park.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Mount Omuro and Jogasaki Coast. Shop till you drop at Pola Museum of Art and Yamaroku Himono Sohonten. Get out of town with these interesting Ito side-trips: Shimoda (Shirahama Beach & Mount Nesugatayama Observatory), Hakone-machi (Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu & Lalique Museum Hakone) and Kawazu Nanadaru Waterfalls (in Kawazu-cho). Getting from Takachiho-cho to Ito by combination of bus and flight takes about 6 hours. Other options: do a combination of taxi and train; or drive. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Takachiho-cho in April: highs in Ito hover around 20°C, while lows dip to 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Nachikatsura-cho.

Nachikatsura-cho

The town of Nachikatsuura-cho wows visitors with its superlative landscape and impressive cultural attractions.
On the 6th (Wed), look for gifts at Mt. Nachi Tourist Center, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Seigantoji Temple, take in the dramatic scenery at Nachi Mitaki Falls, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hirou Shrine, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Kumano Nachi Taisha, and finally don't miss a visit to Daimonzaka.

You can do a combination of flight and train from Ito to Nachikatsura-cho in 5.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a train. In April, daily temperatures in Nachikatsura-cho can reach 22°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
