Designated a World Heritage Site in 1995, Luang Prabang sits at the meeting point of two rivers and offers numerous opportunities for sailing, climbing, and exploring scenic caves and waterfalls.
Get some historical perspective at Golden City Temple (Wat Xieng Thong) and Wat Xieng Mouane. Step off the beaten path and head to Luang Prabang Golf Club and Wat Sensoukaram. Step out of Luang Prabang with an excursion to 100 Waterfalls in Nong Khiaw--about 52 minutes away. Spend the 9th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's lots more to do: take in the dramatic scenery at Kuang Si Falls, soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, savor the flavors at Food & Drink, and don't miss a visit to Alms Giving Ceremony.
