Asago is a city located in northern Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan.The modern city of Asago was established on April 1, 2005, from the merger of the former town of Asago absorbing the towns of Ikuno, Santō and Wadayama (all from Asago District).As of April 30, 2017, the city has an estimated population of 31,248, with 12,355 households, and a population density of 82.52 persons per km². Venture out of the city with trips to Kyotango (Higashiyama Park, Hacchohama Asamogawa Beach, &more), Tottori (Tottori Sand Dunes, The Sand Museum, &more) and Iwami-cho (Shiretoko National Park Nature Center, Uradome Coast Oguri beach beaches, &more). There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Takeda Castle Ruins, wander the wide-open spaces of Ayabe Fureai Farm, steep yourself in history at Ine no Funaya, and see the interesting displays at Asago Art Village.
