Christchurch

Recovering from the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 was no easy task, but Christchurch has faced the challenges with aplomb.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Riccarton House & Bush and Garden of Tane. Change things up with these side-trips from Christchurch: Akaroa (Dolphin & Whale Watching & Hinewai Reserve). There's still lots to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Christchurch Botanic Gardens, appreciate the history behind Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial, get engrossed in the history at Canterbury Museum, and examine the collection at International Antarctic Centre.

To find photos, maps, more things to do, and tourist information, read our Christchurch trip itinerary builder site.

Valletta, Malta to Christchurch is an approximately 31-hour flight.
