Located at the edge of a headland in Lake Ontario's east, Prince Edward County offers plenty of waterfront scenery to enhance its reputatipon as an ecotourism destination. A long history of indigenous settlement can still be seen on a trip to Prince Edward County, with millennia-old historical sites dotted throughout the county. Surprisingly, the county's agreeable climate has led to the development of a wine region in the area, with upwards of 30 wineries producing high quality products. Despite this, temperatures regularly plunge below 0 C (32 F) during the winter months.
