Old Pueblo

One of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, Tucson is a city on a cultural crossroads, with European, Native American, Mexican, and Asian residents blending and sometimes conflicting with one another.
Step out of Tucson to go to Benson and see Kartchner Caverns State Park, which is approximately 1h 5 min away. There's much more to do: take in breathtaking views at Sabino Canyon, get a new perspective on nature at Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, admire the architecture and history at Mission San Xavier del Bac, and take in the exciting artwork at Etherton Gallery.

For where to stay, maps, more things to do, and other tourist information, refer to the Tucson route site.

In January, daily temperatures in Tucson can reach 65°F, while at night they dip to 41°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
