A modern city and a major transport hub facing Seto Inland Sea, Takamatsu offers a bustling city lifestyle contrasted with carefully manicured, tranquil green areas at the foot of the mountains and the lava plateau.
Explore hidden gems such as Sanuki Kid's Kingdom and Teshima Island. Venture out of the city with trips to Zentsu-ji Temple (in Zentsuji), Tsuda Matsubara (in Sanuki) and Yama-Roku Shoyu (in Shodoshima-cho). Step off the beaten path and head to Okuiya Niju Kazurabashi Bridge and Hōnen'ike Dam. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Miyoshi: Kotohira-cho (Kotohira-gu Shrine & Kotohiragu shrine office), Sanuki Manno Park (in Manno-cho) and Mt. Tsurugi (in Mima). And it doesn't end there: soak in some Japanese tradition at some of the top local onsens, appreciate the views at Iyakei Valley, go for a walk through Iya Kazura Bridge, and walk around Hesokko Park.
