City of Light

A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Visit Philippe-Chatrier Court and Chateau de Maintenon for their historical value. Step out of the city life by going to Le Potager des Princes and Golf de Chartres - Fontenay. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Paris: British Cemetery - Montreuil-aux-Lions (in Montreuil-aux-Lions), Blois (Escalier Denis Papin & Chateau Royal de Blois) and Chateau de Cheverny (in Cheverny). Spend a day of contemplation and exploration on the 22nd (Fri) at Cathédrale Saint-Étienne d'Auxerre. And it doesn't end there: pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul, take in the views from Pont-Neuf, stroll the grounds of Australian National Memorial, and steep yourself in history at Chateau of Vincennes.

To find other places to visit, maps, ratings, and other tourist information, go to the Paris trip itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Paris-Orly Airport, Charles de Gaulle International Airport and Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport. In May in Paris, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 11°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
