City of Light

A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Visit Philippe-Chatrier Court and Hotel de Ville for their historical value. Step out of the city life by going to Le Potager des Princes and Golf de Chartres - Fontenay. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Paris: British Cemetery - Montreuil-aux-Lions (in Montreuil-aux-Lions), Chateau de Cheverny (in Cheverny) and Blois (Escalier Denis Papin & Chateau Royal de Blois). On the 22nd (Fri), spend a day of historical exploration at Cathédrale Saint-Étienne d'Auxerre. The adventure continues: steep yourself in history at Lochnagar Crater, explore the historical opulence of Chateau of Vincennes, pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedrale Saint-Pierre, and learn about winemaking at Budding.

To find ratings, photos, other places to visit, and more tourist information, use the Paris attractions planner.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Paris-Orly Airport, Charles de Gaulle International Airport and Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport. In May, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 11°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
