City of Light

A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Visit Philippe-Chatrier Court and Chateau of Vincennes for their historical value. Step out of the city life by going to Le Potager des Princes and Fontainebleau Forest (Foret de Fontainebleau). You'll find plenty of places to visit near Paris: British Cemetery - Montreuil-aux-Lions (in Montreuil-aux-Lions), Chateau de Cheverny (in Cheverny) and Blois (Escalier Denis Papin & Chateau Royal de Blois). On the 22nd (Fri), spend a day of historical exploration at Cathédrale Saint-Étienne d'Auxerre. The adventure continues: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedrale Saint-Pierre, stroll the grounds of Australian National Memorial, see the interesting displays at Musee du Parfum - Fragonard, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Briare aqueduct Pont-canal de Briare.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Paris-Orly Airport, Charles de Gaulle International Airport and Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport. In May, daytime highs in Paris are 20°C, while nighttime lows are 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
