City of Light

A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Visit Philippe-Chatrier Court and Hotel de Ville for their historical value. Step out of the city life by going to Le Potager des Princes and Fontainebleau Forest (Foret de Fontainebleau). You'll find plenty of places to visit near Paris: British Cemetery - Montreuil-aux-Lions (in Montreuil-aux-Lions), Blois (Escalier Denis Papin & Chateau Royal de Blois) and Chateau de Cheverny (in Cheverny). Spend a day of contemplation and exploration on the 22nd (Fri) at Cathédrale Saint-Étienne d'Auxerre. There's much more to do: admire the masterpieces at Musee National des Arts Asiatiques - Guimet, learn about winemaking at Budding, stroll the grounds of Australian National Memorial, and explore the historical opulence of Chateau de Maintenon.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Paris-Orly Airport, Charles de Gaulle International Airport and Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport. In May, daytime highs in Paris are 20°C, while nighttime lows are 11°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
