Historians often describe Xi'an, capital city for over a dozen dynasties, as the birthplace of Chinese civilization.
Visit Xi'an City Wall (Chengqiang) and Xi'an Bell Tower for their historical value. Get a sense of the local culture at The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses and Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta). Get out of town with these interesting Xi'an side-trips: Huayin (Yuquan Courtyard of Huashan, Mount Huashan, &more). There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Muslim Quarter, admire the masterpieces at Tang Bo Art Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Xi'an Mosque, and take in the natural beauty of Huaqing Palace.
