Nags Head

Most visitors take a trip to Nags Head to enjoy the beach, but this Outer Banks town offers more than just waterside entertainment.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach and Helicopter Tours. Change things up with these side-trips from Nags Head: Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Museum (in Corolla) and British Cemetery (in Ocracoke). There's lots more to do: take in the dramatic natural features at Jockey's Ridge State Park, kick back and relax at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, take an in-depth tour of Wright Brothers National Memorial, and enjoy the sea views from Bodie Island Lighthouse.

In July in Nags Head, expect temperatures between 86°F during the day and 74°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
