Though Cologne famously contains 12 Romanesque churches, the city's top prize remains its landmark Gothic cathedral.
Explore Cologne's surroundings by going to Playpaintball Jungle (in Mechernich), Aachen (Markt, Aachen Cathedral, &more) and Deutsches Eck (German Corner) (in Koblenz). Next up on the itinerary: admire the striking features of Cologne Cathedral, explore the world behind art at Museum Ludwig, take in nature's colorful creations at Forstbotanischer Garten, and get outside with Hochsauerlandkreis.

A global center of finance and transportation, Frankfurt is perhaps best known for its futuristic cityscape.
On the 15th (Thu), admire the masterpieces at Stadel Museum, thentake in nature's colorful creations at Palmengarten, thentake some stellar pictures from Main Tower, and finally admire the landmark architecture of Romer. On the 16th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see the interesting displays at Museum Embankment, contemplate the long history of Old Nicholas Church (Alte Nikolaikirche), thencontemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of St. Bartholomew (Dom St. Bartholomaus), thentake in the views from Iron Bridge, and finally contemplate the long history of Goethe House.

Take a train from Cologne to Frankfurt in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or fly. In April in Frankfurt, expect temperatures between 18°C during the day and 5°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Strasbourg.

Get out of town with these interesting Strasbourg side-trips: Vieille ville d'Eguisheim (in Eguisheim) and Colmar (Old Town & Little Venice).
