Traveling from Hakone-machi in May, things will get somewhat warmer in Iriomote-jima: highs are around 34°C and lows about 28°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Thu) so you can ride a ferry to Ishigaki.

Ishigaki

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kondoi Beach and Island Countryside Settlement. Step out of the city life by going to Scuba & Snorkeling and Cape Hirakubozaki. Take a break from Ishigaki with a short trip to Ubutaki Lookouts in Kohama-jima, about 1h 10 min away. Getting from Iriomote-jima to Ishigaki by ferry takes about an hour. In May in Ishigaki, expect temperatures between 34°C during the day and 28°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Mon) early enough to travel to Miyakojima.

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
