Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Popular historic sites such as Nymphenburg Palace and Schloss Neuschwanstein are in your itinerary. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Viktualienmarkt and Schack-Galerie. Step out of Munich with an excursion to Partnachklamm in Garmisch-Partenkirchen--about 1h 35 min away. And it doesn't end there: get curious at Deutsches Museum, visit Schwabing, admire the masterpieces at Alte Pinakothek, and see the interesting displays at Munich Residenz.

In February, daily temperatures in Munich can reach 5°C, while at night they dip to -3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Fri) to allow time to travel back home.
