Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Museo Nazionale Romano - Palazzo Massimo alle Terme and Palazzo Doria Pamphilj will appeal to museum buffs. Piazza Venezia and Basilica Papale San Paolo fuori le Mura are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's much more to do: admire the masterpieces at Villa Farnesina, see the interesting displays at Stanze di Raffaello, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Louis of the French, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Abbey of St. Paul Outside the Walls.
