Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Visit Colosseum and Vatican Museums for their historical value. The adventure continues: contemplate the long history of St. Peter's Basilica, pause for some serene contemplation at Church of St. Louis of the French, admire the striking features of Pantheon, and don't miss a visit to Piazza Navona.

To find maps, photos, ratings, and more tourist information, use the Rome travel route site.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In February in Rome, expect temperatures between 57°F during the day and 41°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
