Bouillante is a commune in the French overseas region and department of Guadeloupe, in the Lesser Antilles.HistoryBouillante was founded about 1635 with the arrival of some of Guadeloupe's first colonists. Venture out of the city with trips to Deshaies (Plage de Grande Anse & Jardin Botanique de Deshaies), Parc National (Cascade aux Ecrevisses, Carbet Falls (Les Chutes du Carbet), & more) and Musee du Rhum (in Sainte Rose). There's lots more to do: admire nature's wide array of creatures at Parc des Mamelles, le Zoo de Guadeloupe, get engrossed in the history at Memorial Acte, contemplate the long history of Domaine de l'Habitation la Griveliere, and get impressive views of La Soufriere Volcano.

If you are flying in from Germany, the closest major airport is Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet. Expect a daytime high around 34°C in February, and nighttime lows around 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
