The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
On the 8th (Wed), browse the different shops at Tenjin Underground Shopping Center, contemplate the long history of Fukuoka Castle Ruins, stroll around Maizuru Park, go for a walk through Ohori Park, thendon't miss a visit to Boathouse Ohoro Park, and finally enjoy breathtaking views from Fukuoka Tower. On the next day, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kamado Shrine, see the interesting displays at Kyushu National Museum, take in nature's colorful creations at Komyozen-ji Temple, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Dazaifu Tenman-gu, thentake in the spiritual surroundings of Tenkai Inari Shrine, and finally take an in-depth tour of Itazuke Ruins Yayoikan.

The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II.
On the 10th (Fri), get engrossed in the history at Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture, don't miss a visit to Peace Memorial Statue, pause for some photo ops at Hypocenter of Atomic Bombing, thentake an in-depth tour of Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, thensee the interesting displays at Nagasaki Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims, and finally get a sense of history and politics at Nagasaki Prefectural Government Observation Deck. On the 11th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hongouchi Lourdes, pause for some serene contemplation at Catholic Church Hongouchi, take in the spiritual surroundings of Sōfuku-ji Temple, take in the views from Megane Bridge, thenwalk around Inasayama Park, and finally take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Inasa.

You can drive from Fukuoka to Nagasaki in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. April in Nagasaki sees daily highs of °C and lows of °C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sun) to allow enough time to take a train to Kagoshima.
