The town of Yamagata and its surrounding prefecture have a wealth of attractions, both man-made and natural.
On the 17th (Wed), head outdoors with Shiginoya Chinuma, don't miss a visit to Frost Covered Trees of Zao, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Torikabuto, thenhit the slopes at Yamagata Zao Onsen Ski Resort, thenboost your wellbeing at a local thermal spa, and finally buy something for everyone on your list at Yamagataken Kanko Bussan Kaikan. On your second day here, admire the landmark architecture of Bunshokan, stroll around Kajo Park, explore the historical opulence of Yamagata castle, take in the spiritual surroundings of Risshaku-ji Temple, thendon't miss a visit to Large Ginkgo Tree in Yamadera, and finally stroll around Tendo Park (Mt.
