Kutchan-cho's reputation rests on two things: skiing and potatoes.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Oyunuma and Fukidashi Park. Get in touch with nature at Niseko Hanazono Resort and Asahigaoka Ski Areas. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kutchan-cho: Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery (in Yoichi-cho), Cape Kamui (in Shakotan-cho) and Rusutsu Resort Ski (in Rusutsu-mura). There's lots more to do: head outdoors with Niseko Village Ski Resort, hit the slopes at Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area, stop by Noboribetsu Dairy Farm, and explore the activities along Lake Toya.

Many visitors take a trip to Nozawaonsen-mura, a picturesque hot spring village in Nagano Prefecture, to get away from it all.

Yokohama

Nichinan

Tourism in Nichinan, a town on Japan's southernmost island of Kyushu, flourishes thanks to the scenic Nichinan-Kaigan coastline, a stretch of secluded coves, islands, and tranquil beaches.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Mon): stop by Nichinan Brewery Center, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Obijyo Castle Ruins, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Udo Shrine, and finally get outside with Nichinan Coast.

Ibusuki

A coastal place of relaxation, Ibusuki stands as a hot spring resort on the southern tip of the peninsula.
Kick off your visit on the 31st (Tue): indulge in Japan's hot spring tradition at some of the top local onsens, take a memorable drive along JR Southernmost Nishioyama Station, then take some stellar pictures from Cape Nagasakibana, then take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Kaimondake, and finally stop by Ikeda Lake Paradise.
