The 2013 European "Capital of Culture," Marseille is the largest port city on the breezy Mediterranean coast and the second largest city in France.
On the 15th (Sun), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathédrale La Major, then take a stroll through The Panier, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, and finally see some colorful creatures with CIP Marseille.

Beirut, Lebanon to Marseille is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. The time zone difference moving from Eastern European Time to Central European Time is minus 1 hour. On the 16th (Mon), explore the world behind art at Vatican Museums and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza Navona. On the 17th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: snap pictures at Isola Tiberina and then take a stroll through Trastevere.

Fly from Marseille to Rome in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and flight; or drive. In July, daytime highs in Rome are 37°C, while nighttime lows are 24°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Tue) early enough to catch the train to Florence.

Considered a cultural, artistic, and architectural jewel of Italy, Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
Take a break from the city and head to River Rafting & Tubing and Bagno Maurizio. Get some historical perspective at Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Piazza del Duomo. When in Florence, make a side trip to see Guardastelle Vineyard in San Gimignano, approximately 1h 05 min away.

You can take a train from Rome to Florence in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or fly. Traveling from Rome in July, plan for a bit cooler nights in Florence, with lows around 21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 21st (Sat) to allow time for the train ride to Venice.
