Isla de Vieques

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Caracas Beach and Kayaking & Canoeing. Get a sense of the local culture at Puerto Ferro Lighthouse and El Hombre de Puerto Ferro. The adventure continues: enjoy the sand and surf at La Chiva, tour the pleasant surroundings at Sun Bay Beach, take a leisurely stroll along Malecon, and see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

To see reviews, photos, where to stay, and more tourist information, read Isla de Vieques online trip maker.
